I agree if you are talking about low competition keyword or keyword phrase.
If your site is just high competition keyword such as webmaster forum, casino etc , i afraid it not going to happen.

If your domain is webmasterforum.com, then you wouldn't really need to worry about SERPs, rather enjoying the amount of direct traffic (mostly accidental), as its something generic and memorable.

I not sure about this but just check on the webmasterforum.com, the alexa ranking is 1116773 which is much lower than admin community.

Alexa isn't the best way to see the amount of traffic a site gets. Plus, it was only an example. Never meant for it to be reality.

I agreed that alexa ranking is not accurate enough but i dont think that's so much tolerant.
I do this research before, and very hard to get a domain name with high competitive keyword can rank #1 in SERP. However, my focus mostly on manufacturing niche, and most of the high competitive keyword, wikipedia seems monopoly the #1. Maybe you can helps to show me few example from other niche

Sure, some are simple sites like:
-Help.com (Help)
-ask.com (Ask)
-business.com (does alternate with Wikipedia, but has appeared as #1 before)
-directory.google.com (directory)
-linkdirectory.com (link directory)
-webdirectory.com (web directory)
-(most of the search engines)
-(most of the social networks, eg. facebook.com)
There are many more, and some
-
i guess it will always rank with a keyword "admin community"
i suggest you should at least try to rank in "webmasters forum"

lol.......Check on their baclink, they all have tons of quality backlink, not the damain name itself make them into the #1, i think you know about this since you are IT/SEO guys.
And directory.google.com is subdomain, and it works better than directory.com, why this happen? because of the backlink

Lol, you need optimized backlinks to get to the number one spot. Otherwise, its impossible. The domain itself can rarely rank number 1 if you don't have optimized links (we assume for SERPs). You NEED optimized backlinks to get a good SERPs.
directory.google.com is identical to directory.mozilla.org (now, dmoz.org). It was just an example of a variable domain.

Like you quoted, I said you don't need to worry about SERPs because you have a lot of direct traffic. SERPs is not direct traffic. Direct traffic is from browsers, or live RSS feeds.
