Anyone use Yahoo Answers for gaining traffic for their website?
I use yahoo answers but all of the time, i do get some traffic from it, but the traffic doesn't stay. They just visit the website for 1-10mins and leave and nearly return. I don't know why, so do you guys think Yahoo Answers is good for traffic?
Hi Electron, I know this is an old post but I think I should answer your question.
I have been using Yahoo Answers and noticed that I get traffic from the answer that I left when the keyword that I targeted is included in it. Please feel free to pm me if there's anything that you want to ask about Yahoo Answers.
i have been providing and using yahoo answer service from past 2 years i have seen good results like getting good traffic and some time my urls are indexed well and rank first for some keywords
Good luck :)
It hasn't really helped in the sense of my rankings, but it does bring in some traffic. This traffic is actually relevant traffic.
If I had a wedding site, I don't think I will be getting visitors from Yahoo Answers, looking for information on insurance policies. The traffic is somewhat targeted IMO, which is a good thing.
Yahoo answers is good at first when the question is answered. But weeks after the fact it is little to NO traffic. In order to make it work you must post answers almost everyday.
if your answer perfectly goes well and you cite your keyword in the text and the link of your site, it should create traffic as it would appear in search results
I've had good luck with recurring traffic from answers when using the desired keyword in the answer as well.
When you say "desired keyword in the answer", do you mean using the keyword as an anchor text, or simply adding the keyword in the answer?

I answer questions in Yahoo! Answer every now and then, it brings relevant traffic although so far it is not significant but I think over time it'll get better.
