Unfortunately that sounds about right. Most programmers will Quote about 40-60 days for a moderate script. Now for dedicating a month and half of their time and life on your script their probably going to want a few thousand dollars. After all in that time their also paying their own rent and food, and, I don't think in that time they will be juggling their day into making scripts for several customers becuase that would just cause serious brainfuck. So in fact their would spending a month of their time just for you. So they may already spent $1000 just on living expenses. It also depends how experienced they are, of course, the more experienced one will get it done faster.
