I'm moving TopBits in and out of production frequently. Here's why.
The
initial goal was to move TopBits into production and keep it there -- forever. Unfortunately, technical issues forced us to take it out of production.
We've resolved the technical issues -- except one. When we push TopBits into production, the CPU load average rises above 700 and the server runs out of RAM and swap space. This makes the server crash.
So that's a pretty serious technical issue.
The issue isn't with Joolma, per se. The issue is with JoomFish, specifically with JFDatabase.
We've spent most of the last ten days troubleshooting this issue and trying to resolve it. I estimate that we're going to give it another four days and then it's decision time.
I apologize for the difficulties this transition has caused, and is causing, but in the long run it
will mean more visitors to your proxy sites.
