That's quite odd. What sort of revenue per visitor are you seeing on your proxy traffic?

If RoI was that low for most people, proxy owners would stop submitting to the list -- which would then improve RoI for the proxy owners who continued to submit to the list.

The Tech-FAQ proxy lists gets 25-30 submissions a day, so I'm thinking that somebody is seeing positive RoI.

I submit to tech-faq too but dont notice any +ROI, I think I'm just spending more money then I'm making back. Its as if they become adblind. You can get a thousand visitors and be lucky if you get 1 click. But I think the interent at large is becoming adblind. People are being over exposed to ads and starting to ignore them.

On TF my proxy received over 900 hits but in money i made 90c, with over 10 clicks. Maybe most of the visitors are not from well converting countries, as result they can't have access to my proxy or their clicks are very low.

Here is a reason for banning .co.cc domains:

The reason for charging $1 to get your proxy accepted onto the tech-faq list was to reduce the amount of spam, however since you are accepting .co.cc domains now. People can get a .co.cc for free and save the $1.99 which a .info costs. Then they can spend $1 to get their .co.cc listed. This means that they save 99 cents per domain purchased and listed and will continue spamming the list like before.

Here is another reason: It is just plain annoying to see all the .co.cc's listed there! It looks spammy.

co.cc is best for proxy owners, but if people spamming too much then that is bad for others.

banning to co.cc is not good idea but Will sir you can limit that they only can submit 1-2 domains a day.

some day ago all domains getting more then 1k hits but now its going down to 400-500 hits avg. due to high spamming from co.cc

The person submitting all the .co.cc's main traffic source is Tech-Faq - I don't think he knows any other way to generate traffic, perhaps Will can invite him to Netbuilders so he can learn a thing or two! LOL

Not a bad idea, should be limited on daily basis to up to 5 proxies submitted per user at the price of 1$.

If he wants to submit more, example between 5-10 proxies from the same user the price will be 2$ / proxy. For more than 10 proxies submitted daily, 3 $ ...

The new fee should be called "The anti-monopoly tax" to prevent a rich guy or/and spammer to create a monopoly.

I see 40 proxies submitted today.

These proxies were submitted by 16 different people. That means that each person submitted, on average, about 2.5 proxies.

The highest number of proxies submitted by one person was 10. The second highest number was 5. Two people submitted 4 proxies. Everyone else submitted 3 or fewer proxies.

There does not appear to be any statistical support for the theory that there is "one guy" who is beating everyone else.

Throwaway domains make sense for proxies, because proxies are natually throwaway sites. That's the nature of the game.

I won't be blocking .info's or .co.cc's until WebSense does.

I was reading through (submitted my first proxy today at tech-faq, mine was a .info). I am still to see the result tech-faq produces. I would like to ask a question, a bit off-topic. How do one know if WebSense is blocking his/her site? I am a new proxy owner and still learning.
