    You can't know for sure if your proxy is blocked by websense. You can only guess.

    my suggestion is to limit the submissions by IP address, since some proxy webmaster are promotinng xx domains from a single IP address.

    If you limit 5 domains/IP address on one day, everyone would be happy

    Haha if only it was that easy. We are in the proxy business - people would just use a proxy!

    Yep -- and that is damned annoying.

    I wish I knew a WebSense customer I could talk into sharing the DB with me.

    True. Instead use their Server IP, not their ISP IP.

    You can easily get their server IP by using
    PHP Code:
    getbyhostname();
    on the domain they submit and put the server IP into the database with the submission.

    then you can limit the amount of domains by Server IP.

    Soon proxy will be a synonym for MFA. Too many bulk, MFA sites, low, very low quality. The new domain parking system.

    What about people on shared hosts? Then everyone on the shared host without a dedicated IP address has that limit on them. I'm sorry but that just doesn't work.

    I guess they get screwed for using an IP address that is shared.

    Or by a crappy policy on rate limiting proxies.

    You have to remember Tech-FAQ is here for the users, not the webmasters. The users benefit more by having a huge amount of, even cheap, domains to use as proxies.

    The problem is that some webmasters (Who pay for domains)(Including me at times) aren't getting value even for the 1$ submission fee (Let alone make a profit) because of co.cc proliferation.

    The submission fee was supposed to reduce spam submissions (And submissions in general), thereby providing each proxy more exposure and thus bring increased traffic per proxy along with the increased promotion of tech-faq by Will.

    However traffic per proxy from tech-faq has gone down quite a bit in certain cases, or at least hasn't notably improved due to those measures. This has been partly due to the *increased* quantity of submissions (Many of them co.cc domains).
