hmm, I agree I'm getting real annoyed of having my domain pushed down by the co.cc's domains. Even a .info cost $3 @ namecheap + $1 tech-faq that is $4.
While the co.cc is FREE 0.00 + $1.00 tech faq. So for each info you submit they can submit 4 co.cc at the same cost and 4x time the traffic by having 4 links on the page. How in the hell is that fair? That just promotes the use co.cc to the point where every proxy on there will end up being co.cc.
Although I partially agree with you guys, the co.cc. domains have some cons of using it such as: these co.cc are not official TLDs, SEO issues, although google does index these domains, it will rank very poorly on search engines, also suspension without notice if it contains any illegal, spam or adult material, they won't have same value as a .com, .net, .org when owners decide to sell the proxy, their only value will be it's traffic and revenue. You also have to donate a minimum of $10 to be able to register 100 more co.cc
On the other hand, proxy sites gets blocked every 2, 4 or 8 weeks approximately so I think these co.cc is a must for all proxy webmasters, matter of fact I would encourage everyone to use it. Why use .com's that will get blocked in a month or 2? Only use .com's, .net for proxy sites that you intend to keep and maintain for a long period.

PS. I have not used any of these .co.cc because I thought it was a bad idea, but now I've changed my mind. CO.CC are the perfect solution for proxy sites. After all proxy sites are like quickies, you use them, monetize it and once it gets blocked get a new one.
But technically, I can take a $10 coupon, and then set up a proxy with a ready-made template with no effort, park 9 other co.cc's to it, and then submit them all. This would probably make me $4/proxy at the least, and after a week I could just scrap them all. That's $30/week profit with no effort at all, and that's only if you submit to Tech FAQ.
If you aren't going to ban them, then I recommend that you up the price to $2 for co.cc domains. So TLDs = $1 and co.cc = $2.
co.cc's work for the proxy users. co.cc's are perfect for proxies, because they can be created easily and cheaply and then thrown away.
com's look nicer, but once they are known and blocked by WebSense (etc...) they are no more valuable (to the proxy users) than a co.cc domain.
Why don't all of you guys build some co.cc's?
Don't complain about your competion, beat them!
Note: The recent rush of co.cc domains is mostly due to one guy and he's not going to be doing this any longer -- for unrelated reasons.
Very well said Will, that's my point. Proxy webmasters should matter of fact use .co.cc for proxies and only use .com, .net for long-term proxy sites they they intend to keep.
The proxy business is not the most profitable niche. We as proxy webmasters have to try to keep expenses low so we could earn as much as possible. Every dollar we save on hosting, domain, promotion, the better the revenue will be.
Even though that is an incorrect categorization. They do not care, becuase co.cc in this case is free which open up the problem of anyone creating unlimited domains without financial cost. Its natural there going to block it when it become a evident problem of being used for such.

GREAT! I was pretty certain it was one guy doing this. The problem is he was completely dominating the list to a point where it isn't even worthwhile in submitting to tech-faq.
I tried my hands on a few co.cc domains, but i would be happy if they were banned (More traffic for the domain buyer who pays money).
The worst insult is when a co.cc domain gets listed twice and picks up twice as much traffic compared to non-free domains, as is the case with three or four (At the moment) co.cc domains today on Tech-faq.
