Thread: Fantasy Name Generator Script

Hey everyone.

I would like to buy a script (custom, preferably. clones work too, as long as you customize it a bit.) that generates a fantasy name. I don't really care what kind of name... it could be a medieval knight name, a pirate name, a ninja name, anything along those lines.

Some examples would be:
piratenamesgenerator.com
rinkworks.com/namegen/
seventhsanctum.com/generate.php?Genname=darkelfnamer

Do you wish to scrape names from those pages on the fly or create your own database?

I was hoping for a unique database, rather than actually scraping any content.

Hm so you still need to get this data from somewhere. So i think that best idea would be scrape all names from those sites and pull them into your own database. Nothing complicated but takes some time to grab them.

I know this is a bit of an old post but did you ever find a suitable script? I'm asking because I just found something I had a while ago called a wu-name generator if you've ever heard of such a thing.

It uses a couple of files for the content and they can be opened in notepad (or whatever) and edited as needed, no database involved, just php script. I can't remember where I got it from in the first place though so if there's any copyright issues I'll remove the download.

Any good to you (or anyone else)?
