I don't know. I think some people are overreacting to the privacy change. I think that in exchange for using their free services, they just want to be able to target you with more ads to try to sell you more stuff, but you don't have to buy anything. I watch network tv and put up with the ads because the entertainment is free. If google didn't make any money, they couldn't offer their search engine.
And now... let then rotten vegetables fly.

At least the Privacy policy is being read by users now that it's been condensed down from 60 documents.

I don't think people care about being exposed to their advertising. It is a matter of what they are doing with the information that they collect about you. Their new policy basically says that they can do anything that they want with it and you are giving them permission. That just covers their hind-ends from FaceBook type law suits.

Google doesn't give hardly anything away that is completely free. Almost every one of their "free" offerings is designed to collect information. That has always been their "fee."

If you have been keeping up with the FaceBook issues, they were repeatedly caught being deceptive and were selling personal information without members' knowledge. We have no idea about what Google does with the info they collect. Many people believe that they have a covert relationship with the government, which allows them to escape the lawsuits that others get hit with for privacy violations. I don't know what they do with the information, but that is one of a long list of possibilities.

I plan to opt in because there isn't really any other choice once you have started using GMail and other Google tools extensively.
You can have it fast, good or cheap. Pick any two.

I did too, since I already lost all my privacy in public baths/spas in Japan - everything revealed in public - 100% disclosure.

Big Brother got caught again. They found a way to circumvent the security on the Safari browser and were tracking users. It looks like they hacked Safari on both desktops and iPhones.

Google has come under attack for violating users' privacy and ignoring their wishes after admitting that it intentionally circumvented security settings in Apple's Safari browser to track users on both desktop computers and iPhones.

So how many people feel that Google would never take advantage of the their new privacy policy, which basically allows them to do whatever they want with personal data collected from Google accounts?

The funny thing is that politicians use these services to sent out nude photos of themselves. How stupid is that?

I think that people have gotten to accustomed to Google's free services, and Facebook has changed the rules. It will cost you 50 cents but the US mail is more secure to send the nude photos and like correspondence. Perhaps the phone companies could provide a fee based email service that could utilize land-lines for text only emails. Text shouldn't use that much bandwidth.

    Hahahahahhaa./...

Take 1 kid, texting out 3,000 times a month.
Multiply that by 100, 1000, or 1 million kids.

If I ever decide to send out nude photos, I will take your advice.
