There's quite a lot of changes but they aren't too significant. Looks like Google spent a lot of time rewriting the old algorithm. So they wasn't the kind of disruption like after Jagger and Big Daddy updates.

Interesting article about caffeine. I speculate for the static sites "fresh links to old content" may have a similar effect to regularly publishing fresh content.

Why do google play with something that is not broke

Are these changes going to be good or bad??

I haven't noticed any changes... Have you? Ok, I did, I saw the results from Twitter(from few seconds ago) on first place in Google index... Is this part of caffeine?

Caffeine is more than an algorithm update. Rather it updates the Google File System and infrastructure. So not only is Caffeine faster it will allow Google to do more things.

So it's not so much what Caffeine does but "what Caffeine will do" in the future.
