There may be some useful info here. I have been a member there for several years, but have not used the forum for quite a while because the speed performance got to be so bad. She really had the site loaded up with useless garbage and I got tired of waiting 20 or more seconds for each page to load.

I suspect that the speed issue was what got the site wacked, which is in line with Dani's theory that her forum got snagged for something other than Panda.

Dani is pretty geeky, which makes her a little hard to listen to. However, she is pretty knowledgeable about most tech issues.

That's what it is so frustrating with Google, you have to guess what went wrong. At this game you can discover the problem and fix it or you can also never know what was the problem and keep going to run your site with a major issue unsolved.

There are a lot of little site owners who have to fix difficult issues, and not all are experts or can afford to hire experts.

I think it is a relief for Dani. That's right sometimes it is hard to know what was causing the Google ranking problems.

how come panda update didn't tremendously affect much to some sites like daniweb? 90K traffic and dropped to 40k is scary.

I think you are correct sometime thing bounce back a short time later making that many changes you will not know what change helped.
