While I don't necessarily agree with employers who ask for passwords, it may be reasonable to ask someone to log into a prospective employee's account and show it to them. What is in the account can tell a lot about the nature and the character of the person. If they refuse, that could be an indication that they have something to hide.

It would not surprise me if FaceBook violated their own policy and shared personal information about members. It would not be the first time that they did that.

I don't really understand the fascination with FaceBook. It has a crappy interface and is not very intuitive, but that is just my opinion.

I would just refuse for the sake of privacy no matter what would be in there.

Agree. I only have one (pseudo) Facebook account for 'research' purposes :cool:. LinkedIn is worse...but it's handy to connect with some people.

More and more people are refusing to give their fb passwords, accounts, etc. to their employers.
Still waiting to see if fb does sue anyone for making an employee or prospective employee give their fb account over.
Or of course, our congress who just had to get involved (hell, the debt, this and that to help our citizens can damn well wait while we get involved in fb, killings, and other crap we should not be involved in).

I have actually had my facebook account since like the day after they went live years back.
Just sat there and sat there.

Then last year, when everyone in the family started getting on fb, surprised wife and kids and grandkids with my account!
It is, like my wife's, just for family and close friends.
No business.
