Employers demand Facebook password from job applicants

Employers are asking for Facebook passwords or requesting applicants to log into Facebook during interviews. I bet Facebook could make a ton of money selling this information.

There you go! That's the basic NB plan. The NB special offer you get 100 Gmails, 100 Web 2.0s, a Twitter, Orkut, 1000 forum profiles and 5 spun articles.

This would be the B2B service provider plan (too geeky for fraternity/sorority graduates)....You'd have to dress it up more

(Done something stupid at initiation? Done the walk of shame one too many times??? Do you really think [insert big local company here] wants to see pics of you doing a keg stand? Recreate your FaceBook image now! Only $399 (the limit of many new collegestudent credit cards is default to $500 if they are not from a comfortable family...)...for just $100 more we can make you current account "disappear" from the prying eyes of future employers who have no right to see your private information....)
and probably advertise at the campus level....
Oh wait, for another $75 we will even throw in free new business friendly "friends" and pics You could mark it up all day...

More and more people are refusing to give their fb passwords, accounts, etc. to their employers.
Still waiting to see if fb does sue anyone for making an employee or prospective employee give their fb account over.
Or of course, our congress who just had to get involved (hell, the debt, this and that to help our citizens can damn well wait while we get involved in fb, killings, and other crap we should not be involved in).

I have actually had my facebook account since like the day after they went live years back.
Just sat there and sat there.

Then last year, when everyone in the family started getting on fb, surprised wife and kids and grandkids with my account!
It is, like my wife's, just for family and close friends.
    No business.

Basically that proves that most employers are ages away from NB's.

This has been a topic a while ago, it's hard to believe it's still happening.
The scariest thing is that people consider it a normal practice, some companies have way to much power. People are just following the herd like sheep.
What's the next step, a live cam in employees homes?

    This is a bad development.

The thing with Facebook is they back-up everything even if you delete it. At anytime they could change their privacy settings and all your deleted photos are restored to your timeline. Haha.

Facebook says it may launch legal action against employers who ask for user passwords and Senator drafting bill to prevent potential employers from requiring Facebook logins – Facebook isn’t amused by employers and other entities demanding login credentials. It may sue, and legislators are looking at making such action illegal. And Protecting Your Passwords and Your Privacy

Facebook amending privacy policy, here’s a rundown of the changes – Once again, Facebook is tweaking its privacy policy.
