It looks like many of their new content quality guidelines are nothing more than wishful thinking.

I don't believe that an algorithm can make many of these determinations about quality.

It looks like intentional misdirection to me.

In the Hacker News link, it resumed pretty well what's going on with many webmasters and Will hit the nail on the head.

I believe that now their core algorithms have reached their limits and if pushed they are much more destructive and will wipe out not only a few spammers but also a lot of e-commerce and sites doing "white hat SEO".

Algorithms are not magical formulas, there will be winners and losers.
