Thread: Improving PR?

I think after my recent PR update I've caught the bug, so would love to take my blog a step further on the PR ladder

So, what tips could you guys give for improving my PR?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

PR is absolutely USELESS when it comes to getting hits from search engines. A PR 1 site can get more hits than a PR 10 site.

What you need to concentrate on is SERPS. Basically all the meta tags and all that stuff influence your SERPS and not PR.

Since you have asked how to increase your PR- Get loads of back links from sites with a god PR.

Yeah, I know that it's all about the SERPS and that PR is practically just a number, but, lets be honest, a site with a load of PR would be nice

And, yeah, I've heard about the backlinks point before.. any more?

To improve PR...not really...i've forgotten the tips. Actually I was PR-crazy earlier and had PR 6 and 4 sites.

If I am not mistaken now back links are what you need.

And Farrhad I am glad you posted this here, cleared a big thing for me.

My PR has already risen to 5 without even focusing on it. I switched from phpbb3 to vbulletin and it has improved by 2 since. So I suppose that had something to do with it, cause now google finds my content better. And I affliate with few good sites, so that has also had some impact

As many said before, quality baclinks is the key.

And sory to ask again, but your blog doesn't show as a PR1 to me yet.

Farrhad page rank is useless if you see it from the ranking point of view but not from the relevancy point of view. It is said that page rank is the best thing about the google algorithm till date. eg. If two pages have the same relevance in content but one page has a higher page rank it will rank higher than the other page. Its not absolutely useless

Hmm, that's odd

Anyway, it's PR2 now
