    Nielsen February 2010 U.S. Search Rankings

    The top 10 Search Providers for February 2010 according to Nielsen Reports February 2010 U.S. Search Rankings | Nielsen Wire

    1. Google 65.2%
    2. Yahoo 14.1%
    3. Bing 12.5%
    4. AOL Search 1.9%
    5. My Web Search 1.0%
    7. Comcast 0.6%
    8. Yellow Pages Search 0.3%
    9. NexTag Search 0.3%
    10 WhitePages.com Network Search 0.3%

    Bing has gained over 1% of search at the expense of Google from January 2010 and appears to be on the way to becoming the second largest search provider after Google.

    That's correct bogart, I've got much more visitors sent by Bing than Yahoo.

    Nothing surprising about the results but G recently could have in fact have triggered a change in SE Rankings in the future by pulling out of China ( I accept the posted results are US Based only)

    As of now
    China has 384 Million Internet Users
    USA has 259 Million Internet Users

    To the figures released by Neilson the results would change for sure ie the global results will be a lot different to the US only based figures

    I'm guessing that most of the search from China is in Chinese. So the traffic wouldn't be of too much use for the average adwords advertiser.

    My estimate is that Google has around 80% of search. Google and AOL (powered by Google) are 67%. But MSN and Yahoo are both portals. So there's a lot of traffic that's derived from the portal traffic like sports, celebrity gossip, news etc. Whereas, Google would have a lot more traffic for example with the tech sector.

    Google will not be the dominant search engine in the next 3 years! As the company expands its operations to several unrelated businesses, it starts to loose it's focus on it's core competencies. The Yahoo/ MSN reach is the first shift towards the inevitable.

    Just like Jerry Yang's self inflicted catastrophe of turning down Steve Ballmer, the dynamic duo of Google do not possess long term business management experience to sustain Google's growth.

    Great information,we must analyze the improvement of Bing.As usual Google much above its other competitors and I think Yahoo global search is reduced.

    MSN/Windows Live/Bing increased to a 13% share in May 2010.

    I think Yahoo will start showing Bing results soon(they will use the same search algoritms) and ads on Bing will be managed by Yahoo's team. Am I right?

    Yes you are right, The actual Yahoo algo is pretty bad, Bing is returning some pretty good queries.
