What is the best search engine?

Akira, don't worry, no one will ever replace Google, and Google will probably never close down. Why?

Well,in terms of the search engine, it's by far the most commonly used. I've never heard anyone say 'lets yahoo it' or 'lets live search it', but I've heard plenty of people say 'Google it'. So, as well as having millions and millions of loyal users, they also have money.

As long as the Adwords/Adsense programs keep running (and, seeing as they're up there with the biggest money making programs out there), the Google search engine will stay up and running.

Do you really think that?

People used to think Yahoo couldn't be beaten until Google came along. Google won't be the top Dog in 10 years time.

Actually anything can happen, as you said- Google may close down or maybe they can rise to world dominance :P

But wasn't Google the first BIG search engine? (I know the first SE was Archie and also google had a different name- Backrub)

Yeah, I do think that. I just feel that it's not only a search engine any more, it's more a way of life. If I need directions to somewhere, I'll use Google Maps, if I'm looking for some images, I'll go to Google Images, and if I want to find a website, I'll just use Google ;)

It's not just me though. I think everyone I know who has the internet uses Google as their main search engine, and I suppose once you're used to one thing it's hard to change.

In terms of 'which is the best search engine', I can't see Google moving over unless someone comes up with something innovative that has the potential to steal millions of users.

And do you know that in newest english dictionary, google word is exist? Google defined as something which related to search engine. So, all google lover, let's be proud of it...!!!

I think google.confusing for me to use yahoo

I would have to agree with mostly everyone here. Google is the best way to go if you are looking for a search engine. Google is like the biggest name in the internet and will only keep becoming bigger, which will help out any webmaster who uses google. Google is the best choice.

I believe that Google won't do same same mistake than Yahoo, which is to remain passive. Google has many other projects apart from the search engine world and understood that if they wanted to remain the company they are today, they HAD to do so. (Chrome, Earth, Android, Desktop, Etc.)

i prefer google ...
since i know google and i feel google is much faster than yahoo ...
most of the time ... when i asked my friend,about something, article or words definition ... they just answer with ... google it ..

firstly,because the interface very simple .. just a search box in the centre of the site .. hehe ...
it make the loading time so fast ...
