Translator plugins are a waste of time they translate absolute garbage. If I were to use this strategy, I'd develop a new domain with the appropriate ccTLD and have the content translated by a human.

You have the option to add meta noindex to archive, tag, category pages etc NOT nofollow.

Using different data sources definitely helps. SEO is more about finding the best keywords, as opposed to knowing exact search volume.
