Any opinions on the blog posting feature on this forum that any member can use? Does anyone have any experience with how useful it is, i.e. has anyone used it and is there anyway to measure if it...
Thanks for the input. Sounds like a mixed bag.
I know things could fluctuate, but sometimes I'll find a new article or post in google (so google is aware of it) but it will never trigger the alert...
Seems like a lot of work when it would be easier to just say something like this:
I saw it and didn't like the ending. I don't like not knowing for sure how something ends, and I also prefer a...
One post wonder? That's hardly "hog wild"! :)
I've used google alerts in the past, and thought it was pretty cool.
You can have google tell you whenever it find a phrase someplace new, like "trade show marketing" mentioned in a new blog post...
I don't know. I think some people are overreacting to the privacy change. I think that in exchange for using their free services, they just want to be able to target you with more ads to try to sell...
I was going to ask what JV stood for. Thanks. I only knew it as Junior Varsity from my high school days.
Anyway, this sounds interesting!
Just to clarify, all of this spam is ending up where it belongs, in the spam folder. But there is so much that I don't want to go through it. As you say, I probably don't miss any legit comments, or...
Mark,
Greetings.
I like your name, HogWild. Why did you choose it for a hosting company though?
I've got a blog that was getting a ton of spam comments. Askismet was catching all of them and sticking them in the spam folder, but I liked to to through the spam folder to check for legit comments...
Thanks all. I got my signature to work. The key was to NOT use the little globe tool.
I don't know why anyone would hack my account when they could easily set up their own.
Anyway, problem(s)...
Hmmm... I like their commercials but stopped using their domain registration a few years ago. Even with their coupons, I think there are better deals, especially if you factor in customer service.
i think I'm using bb code. I'm using the hyperlink tool in the signature box, and it works when I preview it, but then when I try to save it, I get the message...

Actually, I just noticed that I got an email on Tuesday that said so-and-so ip address failed to logon to my account and it was now blocked. And the ip address is not mine (it started with 172.)! So...
I recently read that now bigger images will rank better (on image searches), but ironically, they load slower, so might hurt your ranking (on regular searches)... seems like a catch 22. :(
FYI - I used the wrong password by mistake this morning, and got the error message... but it said I had used 4 of 5 attempts (I only tried once). Anyway, I paid attention and did it right, and log in...
Thanks! That's what I was looking for... but in the meantime, I've been able to log on twice since then, so hopeful the issue is gone. :)
I wasn't unable to log in this morning.
It said my password was wrong, and to wait 15 minutes.
I waited, then tried again (and made sure I typed my password right), but same error.
I even reset my...
I've been wondering the same thing (if a wiki link might be valuable). I have a feeling that getting a link in wikipedia may actually be very valuable, but I have yet to get one, so I can't say yet!...
It's good to see that google lives by it's own rules. The problem with hiring 3rd party vendors is that stuff like this happens. At least google will walk the walk.
Thanks for all your input. Based on what you've said and what I was thinking anyway, I'm just going to let it drop. Thanks again!
Thanks for your comments! The domain name is keywords-directory DOT com. I was thinking of setting up a directory based on keywords, but never got around to it. It seems like now directories have...
I have a domain name I registered almost 3 years ago. I never really did anything with it, but I did set up a home page that says something like, you have found blah-blah.com (but it's not blah-blah)...
