I don't know. I think some people are overreacting to the privacy change. I think that in exchange for using their free services, they just want to be able to target you with more ads to try to sell...

Actually, I just noticed that I got an email on Tuesday that said so-and-so ip address failed to logon to my account and it was now blocked. And the ip address is not mine (it started with 172.)! So...

I recently read that now bigger images will rank better (on image searches), but ironically, they load slower, so might hurt your ranking (on regular searches)... seems like a catch 22. :(

I've been wondering the same thing (if a wiki link might be valuable). I have a feeling that getting a link in wikipedia may actually be very valuable, but I have yet to get one, so I can't say yet!...

It's good to see that google lives by it's own rules. The problem with hiring 3rd party vendors is that stuff like this happens. At least google will walk the walk.
