How does SimplePress compare with VBulletin? Is there any advantage to one over the other, if you're trying to bolt a forum on to a WordPress blog?

There are a handful of smaller niche bookmarking sites that are good. Some combine a weekly newsletter with them. But if it's your typical spam-filled bookmarking site, I'd have to agree with you.
