I donated, did you's?
This article by BBC might put minds of off vBulletin - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-10714192
Yes this is bad i people are starting to find ways to manipulate and exploit the forum software...
Updated post, my next article will be a graphic customized tutorial.
I am not allowed to see it but I downloaded it and crapped myself.
Their ain't much out mine but a 6ft fence one side and some deacon up the back with a fence looking onto a neighbours garden, also it is like 16 foot by 16 foot so quite small.
Exactly what Vysse said but somehow the higher version number the better package you'll have, also as soon as phpBB4(Alpha) get's release I think some softwares will work on developing their 4.0...
Finding a theme can never be hard when you have some money on hand, and know the right places where to start.
Also I have found when releasing a forum gaining good active members is hard.
I love the banner it brings a real pulse to the forum although one thing that disappointed me was you never had descriptions and their wasn't much to discuss as of the lack of forums.
Well some members in that case are split into different platforms and can reign new forums each time they hit a post milestone s they can gain separate achievements as they work hard. That's the way...
You started a forum because you could advertise via MSN, if that's all the promoting you do try doing some word of mouth, advertising in magazines, getting ad space on big blogs and think of unique...
Hey Vortex, nice to meet you and hope you have a good time.
Thank you, glad you liked it.
No the ToS is all capitalised and ugly.
Here are my top tips for planning a forum and I hope you enjoyed this guide as much as I have writing it.
Step 1: Somewhere to start?
Thinking of planning a forum well you need somewhere to...
Do you and your staff have private meetings via MSN or Skype or anything like that? I don't as of the moment because there is nothing to discuss, if a staff member brings up a good point that should...
Do you limit your guest's permissions such as how many threads they can view or can even view a forum? I would let guest's view 4 topics then force them to join as who knows they might bump some...
How much money have you spent on your forum, hosting, themes, domain, banners and all that? I would say £45 - £55 pounds for some older projects but I plan to spend at least £30 for Woxle with buying...
Do you offer merchandise for members to buy such as t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, mouse mats, or hats and socks? I have saw this done on a lot of big forums such as WarezBB.com. I would give it a shot in...
So, how much money do you make from your forum/blog/website? I don't make anything yet and don't plan too either.
It wouldn't be bad to earn a few bucks and save up for competitions and much more.
Does your site have it's own e-mail address like conact@community-forums.net?
I think I will be getting one soon for myself and some of my sites.
Would you ever consider doing this - Telling your whole contact list about your site - I have more than 700 contacts on MSN 3/10 of them webmasters/promoters.
Do these tend to help in the SEO...
What other softwares do you think has been a challenge for Google and will there be one in the future?
I think some classy web-developers and graphic designers will come together to create...
I like them, I use them for some side projects. They have some of the nicest skins and designs, and some great modifications such as AIO(all in one) which includes ACP, Bank, Tournaments, Donations,...
They even make their ToS look back if you have ever read it.
Well wait for that effort to kick in and members will give some good feedback in the future.
Most admins who make constant efforts like yourself probably try to hard and just need to sit back and...
I wouldn't join them when on phpBB because it was another promotion forum but now they are improved and offer good competitions I have joined and will hopefully stay for a long time.
True Macster, true. They never have allowed anyone access to databases without money being involved, Sitefrost is a good host but they have had a lot of loading problems in the past plus it is...
Well you are in the correct track but a better website design probably would attract more to see your games and who knows your design might think that the game is designed ten times better than the...
Simple question.
I have about 12 bookmarked sites, 7 of them being graphic designers.
So what do you prefer darker themes or light themes on forums? Some of you will say depending on the genre but light themes for promotion forums and dark for gaming but I don't see an effect off it,...
What is the worst part of running forums for you?
I would have to say when a modification or theme and it goes wrong finding the part where it goes wrong and then re-installing or the theme...
Well to be honest I wouldn't need any moderators till 50 members and possibly 5,000 posts. I have about 3 - 4 competitions opened up for the grand opening one a posting competition, FOTM, battle...
Well I honestly think if you want big game developers to approach you, a website design is needed to know that you are created and neat. Just personally what I think would work.
Hey David nice to meet you though.
When I think of all the time I've spent recruiting, training and handling issues related to moderation I wonder if it would be less of a headache to not take on any mods and just deal with everything...
Hey John1, nice to see you here, and I am sure you will enjoy yourself like I have.
What do you guys think of Google's Bloggers/Blog Spot? Is it recommended to newer bloggers? Will it still be alive in 5 years?
I personally don't like it, it is annoying bad decision, I would...
I WordPress a good blog for SEO, I know they have some good SEO plug-ins but do they work and get you somewhere? Anyone with experience care to explain.
I have been wondering about opening a small shop operating with a good trustworthy shopping cart software?
I have read reviews and all that but don't know what's best for me.
Hopefully before we release Woxle I will have something like a blog up with a few articles but it may not happen.
If I had the time to make a blog and keep track of my day to day work I would but sadly I don't and don't plan to soon with so much happening.
The boxed layout, the Habbo squared writing, the forced ads, the search bar, just doesn't work. Although ProBoards was an all right software to start out for me.
I use vBulletin 4 but you can just tell IP.Board is better in a way but they are both amazing software.
It has improved a lot since the day they were using an ugly ProBoard's template layout. It is one of the best but MyBB is better I think as it picked up on phpBB mistakes and worked upon them.
IP.Board, phpBB and MyBB.
Reputation for me will mean a lot for me and my blog as we will be getting a lot of bots and currently a few important people visiting. For my forum it will matter as we want members to come back and...

Previous Experience: interviewBB current owner, FP reviewer, & Woxle Admin.
Examples of your work:...
I joined FP ages ago and I was first a member then after two years I am finally a reviewer. Now on most forums just a general contributor.
An admin should always have an opinion but so should members, if a member wants something the admin will think then will give his opinion, the way I work round it.
I would get new staff that are trust worthy and up for the job, staff like that will get no where in foruming.
Of course I do we are an advertising forum. Advertising is hell to us. http://community-forums.net/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r_anim.gif
Millions and I read upon these blogs everyday and any freelance, outland, novices out there should read these also the pro's read them.
http://creativecurio.com/ - I have read this blog since day...
Honestly finding a different theme from others like DezignBB for phpBB then working upon background, images, and much more comes out better in this situation. Try a light theme instead of all the...
Nice design there but just a suggestion, perhaps have a possibilities of viewing the theme in different colours such as red or blue or orange to make it have a unique feel.
Good guide but I somehow don't agree with some of the tips used but others will find them twice as useful. Also getting some top software developers to suggest modifications and themes to you is...
I'll attempt giving it a shot for Woxle.com and if it works my appreciation to you for finding it and for the owner for creating it.
As a graphic designers point of view most game sites all have a professional twisty look and I can't see that happening here, you should look for a really nice red, blue, green, orange, purple, or...
Forum/Website Name: http://woxle.com - Woxle
Role(s/Services needed) required: I need only one administrator.
Paid or not: Not, as time goes on and if we become success I will start to pay.
...
It was a nice find although the thought of going diving in waters possibly 150ft deep with basin sharks, killer whales and all that would make me just not think about doing it.
Yeah, I prefer sites with favicons because we know the admin's can put their back into doing one extra thing for the community.
I don't know, I always use Google or the search default pages on search engines and they are mostly Google powered.
Because It's Not Google, ha. You have to admit it is a nice well thought out name although I use it at school for image searches that's all, I use Google.
Never bothered with it but I think with Woxle I will work upon it.
Get quite a few back links and decent quality and then wait for it too update every three months and just hope that it is something useful you done.
No it doesn't really matter as basically all you are doing is getting members to join and possible the odd stranger. I personally prefer them so I can use a service for them.
I have tried this in the past but the quality wasn't at all great on the video although it got two thousand views before I deleted it when the site got shut down. I got some members to subscribe to...
I don't do both. I don't use FaceBook yet but I would keep a personal page and if members from the forum want to join they can.
Go to ZetaBoards, they offer software and hosting all you do it register and there is a forum for you to use and there are so much resources and the adminCP is easy to configure.
My experience wasn't bad actually only on one certain night the host would just go down for about three hours and then I eventually got sick of it and let the forum die even though it was dead. This...
000webhost, Trap17, Web Hosting Fox, Hawk Host and Frog Host. The first three are free hosts and I would say Trap 17 is the best but Web Hosting Fox have a better support.
I haven't used a lot actually, I have read so many bad reviews on them. I usually stuck with free hosts last year but I learned that they are not reliable and trustworthy as they gave some personal...
Name Cheap, when I first heard that GoDaddy didn't accept PayPal no more and it didn't work when I was registering a name I was plastered down with Name Cheap and never looked back.
Hey everyone, I am Lee Lawson and I live off the West Coast of Scotland were honestly it rains like heaven hates us. I am a graphic designer, reviewer and writing/drawing. Those are my favourite...
