wouldn't advertising your forum on other forums just bring members looking to promote their forum - not real members if you get my drift?

What's your opinion on having a single introduction thread, where everyone introduces themselves, as opposed to each new member starting their own thread?

I find yahoo overture to be a great way to promote a website. Those costs per click can add up so be choicy with the keywords you select. Narrow down to words that accurately describe your site...
