I decided to stop using my forum signature for links since it creates so many duplicate anchor text links. But I don't know if it is a problem because they are on the same domain (the forum).

Anchor text diversity seems to be part of the latest algorithms to tell the difference between natural links and spammed links.

I myself don't know yet if what I am doing with signature links is good or not.
What I have been doing, is every time I post on a blog, is change my sig links to the new post title.

Probably drives google wild that every time they check forums, they see me with new signature anchor texts, but same blogs.

Search engine algorithms are like bureaucrats. They just keep doing the same things over and over, regardless of how senseless they may be.

With today's Google, frequent changes to signature links are probably a good idea. I just don't use them any more because I found them to be ineffective for SEO purposes.

For pure SEO, forums links are at the bottom of the pile now.
A good link in a post is better than a great link in a signature file.

Plus really, changing up my anchor text constantly lets everyone know what is going on and that spells more traffic.

SEO, I rarely worry about or work on.

Don't think that you can game all with SEO and Google is wiser than you think. Observe and analyze every situation to provide what your targeted users needs and will benefit them in many purposes.

All of this has been neutered by Google, except the very small niche of quality link building.

Local legitimate business directories are some of the only directories that still work. Directory submissions to most directories do more harm than good. If all the pages within the directory have a PageRank of zero, that directory has been penalized.

Most blog commenting is spam and by default WordPress neuters comment links with the nofollow attribute.

Matt Cutts just recently warned people that guest posting was no longer a good idea, so you are pretty much limited to writing articles on your own blogs, which makes it an on-page SEO issue.

The SEO is dead since 2012. Welcome to the new marketing era....

Two things you can do today are investing in marketing on page, by that I mean the contents need to target The People in a marketing way. For those having a huge marketing budget, SEM maybe a plus. Or/And you can sign up for pay ads system(s).

Even if you use a SEO technique today, you can bet that google will go after it sooner or later which will competently ruin all your investment and could destroy your business. On internet you can easily find stories about how webmasters and business owners lost their businesses for these particular reasons.
