Just as I was assured, I received five links. One of the links happened to be nofollow, and it was replaced right away!

Four domains were PR6 and one was PR7.

Were the linking pages a PR6 and PR7 or were just the home home pages PR6 and PR7? What matters is the PR of the page where your links reside.

The homepage was the one with the PR

Well even though the profile page is without PR, you are getting backlinks from trusted websites. It is not llike getting backlinks from some useless websites or other sites with less than PR3.
