Goal setting is scary, because it means that you have to commit to something.

    A goal without a plan of action isn't a goal, it's a daydream.

One of my faults is that I am constantly working in so many directions I have trouble focusing.

Here are some specific goals that I am going to commit to:
    • I will increase traffic on my political blog from 100 visitors a day to 200 visitors a day by 1 April by adding keyword oriented content and topic guide pages.
    • I will add three good posts to my religion blog by 1 April.

I want to say "I will build an active community on The TopBits Forum by 1 June", but it's a lousy goal because I don't have a plan of action to make it happen.

One of my major priorities is link building. But, I can't really make that a goal because I don't have a quantitative metric assigned to it. I don't know how many links I want to build.

Another odd thing is that I now have so many awesome people working with me that some things that would previously be "goals" don't feel like goals any more. I would have had a goal to convert two of my Drupal sites to Wordpress, but with help from Siva and Hellas it seems like less of a goal and more like "something which is going to happen." Goals should force you to stretch and grow. Goals should be difficult to achieve and they should entail a certain amount of personal sacrifice.

Very nice blog Will, I like very much the Gun Rights part

200 visitors a day seems like very possible.

Here are a few of my own personal goals. I would like to (am going to):

    • Make my first ClickBank sale by 1st February.
    • Make 10 ClickBank sales by 1st March.
    • Make 50 ClickBank sales by 1st April.
    • Work with an accountant to help me sort out my tax papers - in previous years, I have done these myself. My understanding of accounting is pretty slim, so I will need help to get these done correctly.
    • Complete next year's tax papers by myself (after having passed NCEA level 1 Accounting). Yep, that's two goals in one.
    • Earn a passive $500 in the month of June (ClickBank/AdSense).
    • Earn a passive $1000 in the month of December (ClickBank/AdSense).
    • Get my learner's license in the month of July, and get a car.

Not only am I going to aim to reach these goals, I am going to make it a goal to exceed these. Wish me luck, and I will happily make an effort to keep you guys up to date!

My goal is enjoying life, and quality of life with my family.

I believe more in motivation and organization which are facts than plan. Planning is just abstract for me.

Sure. It's nice to slurge and increase the motivation.

Organization is mission critical. Otherwise you are a man running full speed with an anchor tied to his back. Reaching the goals are important put it needs to be done in an efficient manner.

Many goals in this thread Good luck Charles man, I'm sure you (and all the others) will succeed

At the moment I only have one goal, and that's to sell everything I have. Going from websites to scripts and ebooks on my computer. After that I'll use the money to buy a computer myself and start all over with websites. All posts I made on forums are earning me a nice amount of money every month, which currently makes sure that I'm earning enough funds to buy the new computer as soon as everything is sold

If not everything is gone by the 25th of February I'll give it away. And if it isn't away before the 30th of February I will remove it from my account or from my PC.

Hopefully I won't have to dissapoint myself, I'll do my best to make it all happen
