Thread: Do Blog Comments Still work?

  1. I think its depend with your commenting method. If you give a lot of commenting and over optimizations, I think this is only waste your time. Just keep and natural when you give blog commenting activities.

What you are seeing is spider and bot traffic, which is not real traffic at all.

to increase the page and domain authority and to make it look natural, you should comment occasionally and consistently. i guess..

Since I do not have much experience in SEO, and since it was one of the first technique I learnt during my learning process, I am doing it. But I am trying to say something relevant and not to spam. Maybe later, when I have enough experience and find out that other techniques may be more successful and reliable, I will stop. It is true that it takes a lot of time to find the appropriate site, read the article and comment.

Blog commenting is getting more and more irrelevant.
More and more blogs are dropping comments section.
More and more blogs are getting very serious about spam.

    My blogs?
    All freaking spam!

Most of that spam are so called blog commenting services.

Best to not waste time and energy and money going to blogs and commenting.

Yes of-course it is worth and useful as far as traffic and back-links are concern. Relevant comment in relevant category will help to get good results. One thing you have to care about, avoid the duplication in comment.

What is better for Google - blog comments, with Name/URL links, or guest blogging with keyword strings within the text (where allowed)?

Blog comments are useless for SEO purposes. No one clicks on links in blog comments, so the only traffic you are likely to get is from spiders and bots.

Guest blogging only works if the site is strongly themed for the same theme as the site you link to and already ranks reasonably well for your targeted keywords. Stay away from blog networks. They have almost all been identified and Google is targeting sites that use them.

    Very true today.
Blog commenting is just a waste of time and energy.
Money also if you are naive enough to pay someone to do this for you.
The above is for seo purposes.

Same with guest blogging, buying blog posts.
Unless tied in with the blog you want to guest blog or buy a blog post, most useless.

Surprising how many sellers I see on forums who sell blog commenting and blog posts on a network of blogs.
And people actually waste their money on this!

Lot better is to have your link and a short paragraph (say 50 words max) in a blog post.
Just for the traffic and that if the blog is well indexed by google, then for a long time your link will be drawing in traffic.

I will still post blog comments where there is active discussion on a topic where I want to arouse the curiosity of readers for my related blog. Just thinking that there must be blog readers like me that will check out blogs since they are looking for new interesting blogs to read.
