I've been using joomla and wordpress for a long time, and the best thing that each one of these has a big community, so you can find answers for most of your problems

I like light-weight ones or none at all (hard code) so I have less problems with security updates and needing community support.

It seems a bit pointless to mention Joomla, Drupal and WordPress since you must be living under a rock to not be able to discover these. Kind of like recommending PhotoShop or the Gimp for graphics.

I used Drupal before and its a very effective CMS and has a very exhaustive documentation for first timers. I found Joomla tough to use and manipulate when compared to Drupal. And yes wordpress is the best.

I believe that Drupal is the most powerful CMS out there, but have become quite fond of Wordpress because of its ease of use and professional templates.

Drupal and wordpress both use php and a mysql database. For most users there really isn't a difference. Basically, most users install a free template and add some content into the cms system.

WordPress is the simplest and seems to be the most popular from what I see in webmaster forum discussions. Joomla 1.5 is a little more comprehensive. Drupal is the most comprehensive, but also the most confusing, especially with the Taxonomy system. Joomla 1.5 works best for me.

Drupal is undoubtedly the best. It has many plugins and it looks good. Joomla is nice, but does not look so good, and really large pages that take forever to load. WordPress does not have as many features as Drupal
