Guard Tunnel - The Free Proxy With a Dream

I just realized that I never posted a review thread for Unblock MySpace

Guard Tunnel is a Glype proxy that has been around since May of this year. I started it off with nothing but a custom theme and a dream

The proxy has been edited to work with Facebook, YouTube, etc and I recently installed an SSL certificate.

Since then, Guard Tunnel has grown to over 40k unique visitors per month with 1 million monthly pageviews. It is also #3 for 'Unblock MySpace' on Google. Earnings for this traffic are relatively low (compared to my other proxy) because my theme was never built with CTR in mind (and I don't plan on changing it).

Right now, we are conducting a survey for all current Guard Tunnel users. If you are someone who frequents my proxy, maybe you could take a few moments to respond? (Popup appears when visiting Guard Tunnel once only)

According to some responses already, load times are a little slow. I am still debating whether or not to upgrade my VPS for this proxy. What do you guys think?

I love the domain name, very professional, I haven't tried your proxy but if its as good as you say you should upgrade your VPS and see your brand grow the only problem I find with your proxy is the server-side script (glype)

phproxy or CGI are the way to go

my other suggestion is to remove the ads since they are not getting you so much revenue, you should follow the example of hidemyass and remove the ads to look very professional and promote your proxy network and your brand once you get about 5k UV's put adsense back and sell private advertisement, you can even sell VIP accounts or VPN services.

    Good luck with your project.

I am very comfortable with Glype, and see no benefits to using CgiProxy or PHPProxy.

My ads still earn a considerable amount (they more than pay for my VPS and all online expenses. I couldn't run Guard Tunnel without them.

My proxy is already well past 5k UVs. And I actually do sell private ads (my thread is in the marketplace).

I was considering selling VIP, but I'm not sure whether it's worth setting up.

    Thanks for the suggestions
