Hi all!

I've been working on a new project with a few other NB members these last couple of weeks:

History of Things

Can you please post a few comments on it?

Nice! interesting articles there, I just read a few and I don't even read the articles on my own sites

Well, I've a few more to publish, in fact I've learned a few things from those as well, which means Andy's doing a great job.

2 tiny remarks:

1 I found the 'home' link very difficult to find
2 I hope google won't penalize you for the terrible translations

Other than that, it's a great site Bruno. Nice graphics too. I am looking forward to see more interesting articles.

I use G translation services, so, if they penalize it I kick their but.

Just out of interest - who helped you construct this new venture?

Well, I must say the concept itself is GREAT. I admire it but the site is not really meeting this great idea.

Positives -

A nice header
Good content

Negatives -

Bad placement of adsense on top. It is very disappointing when a visitors finds adsense right at the opening of a site or blog. You may want to adjust the top adsense.

Agreed with Loko. It's better to go for a clear navigation so that they feel like coming again. Not like. they click on adsense and got frowned with a ad page; of course won't like to come again (I won't be at least)

Sidebars can be better. The latest history section can come just above the "Histories of"

I hope you won't mind my suggestions. It's all up to you to accept or reject

F-GD designed the header, I've designed the WP theme and Andy is writing the articles.
I still have hundreds of articles ready to be written.

Well, the overall idea is having a good CTR there, I use this type of layout all over my sites and get a very good amount of clicks, of course this means less returning visitors, but well...
I might tweak it for a few months 'till I have some decent traffic, or maybe show the top unit only to certain referrals (SE's).

I like your site very much.

The right side ad placement is good. I actually (accidentaly) clicked it. But maybe the left side should be similar. Put the latest histories up, and ads down. I didn't like the placement of the center ad. Though, I don't know where you should put it.

The translation was horrible. (Not your fault, but anyway...) I had to read the english version, to be able to understand the finnish version.

The content of your site is very good. I liked that you put lots of pictures, to each article.

In fact I might need to tweak that top ad unit later on, and start publishing some of the articles I have laying on my desktop.
