IntellectToday | An Intellectual Community (Forum Review)

    Hello everyone!

I would greatly appreciate if you could supply me with an honest review of my forum, IntellectToday.

IntellectToday is an organization dedicated to the advancement of society. The forum covers a variety of subjects such as: Science, Technology, Mathematics, Philosophy/Religion, and much more!

It's a great place. And it's starting to really pick up! Any advice for improvement would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a lot! =]

I like the vBulletin theme you are using, but the beaker icon seems just a bit too specific to chemistry.

Requiring people to state where they learned about your forum when they register is a bit much. It's a nice field, but I wouldn't require it.

You've targeted a huge niche. That makes it much more difficult to get started.

How do you get rid of posters who don't meet the intellectual requirements?

Thanks for signing up. I see you've dived right into the discussion! I would also like to thank you for responding to my thread here.

I thought the theme was clean and easy to navigate. It just seems to fit, and I am glad that you agree. We selected the beakers because they can be either full or empty, just like a forum. They also have a 'scientific' feel about them which contributes to the overall atmosphere. Would you happen to have any suggestions as to an icon that might be a bit less targeted?

I suppose you make a good point regarding the fact that the 'How did you find IntellectToday?' field is required. I'm going to change that now, actually. Thanks for the suggestion.

Indeed. We have targeted a huge niche, but I am confident that IntellectToday will be successful. The world's intellectual community has been searching for a place just like it. Besides, most of the people that sign-up are well versed on a number of subjects and therefore can participate in most of the areas found on the site.

How do you get rid of posters who don't meet the intellectual requirements?
We firmly believe in education. Therefore, we don't actually get rid of posters who are experiencing difficulties keeping up with the subject matter at IntellectToday. Instead, we encourage a casual and friendly atmosphere so that people are not afraid to ask questions and learn about things to which they may be unfamiliar. We do require that all members are able to speak English properly enough to convey their ideas (and understand the ideas of others) and keep the forum looking clean and professional. Text messaging lingo and whatnot is not permitted. Fair enough, right?

Great idea for a forum, and you're right, anyone with intellectual interests struggles to find broad general interest forums to join. I've registered.

    It's online here

And the layout is very nice!

Too bad it's not my thing, plus, it's English which is even more difficult for me
So I won't fill your database with an unnecesarry user
But I give it 9/10 (Idea is good, layout is good etc..)

Yeah it won't load over here for me. Sounds like a neat community though.

I don't believe there has been any downtime. So, if you were unable to visit the site, I apologize and encourage you to try again.

5starpix - the avatars were accidentally deleted during an update, and we'll be putting them back on as soon as possible. Thanks for pointing this out!

As for the rest of you - thanks for the helpful reviews. I greatly appreciate it!
