Thread: Please Review

I've just launch a new website. The design is not all that but what ever...Please give me good and bad feedback

Note: Ill add more tutorials tomorrow.

Not really a fan of the theme, too dark for my liking. Some other people my love it though.

Some pointers from me:

- Make the external links like the Twitter one to _blank so people do not leave your site.

- Get a favicon.

- Keep an RSS box at the top right corner.

- I just cannot read the text in the sidebar (bottom). Tooo dark.

- What is the form for? Mention that.

What about now! I changed a few things

I've got a list as well. Hope this helps, trying not to sound too harsh:

- the color scheme is all over the place. Needs revamping.
- that background is getting to be overused. I would at least modify the way it looks. (make it a diff color)
- the monitor(?) in the logo doesn't really fit. It feels random. And the colors for the text make it hard to read. I like the font, though.
- the sponsors heading doesn't have a * but the other sidebar headings do...
- its loading wicked slow
- the menu is boring.

The design feels more like a layout. Kind of unfinished and messy. Could still use some work but the structure is nice and you're on the right track. Hope that helps.

Not a good idea. Studies actually reveal visitors are more likely to come back to your site using the back button. Tabs or windows that get buried by new tabs or windows get forgotten and closed.

Use wordpress's More tag or custom excerpts. Your homepage is massive due to every article being shown in full.

A breif overview woud allow people to find the post they want to read and go to it, making the site more navigatable and pushing page impressions up.

Also... wheres your footer?
