    Site Makeover!

    Hello everyone!

Today I decided to buy and implement a cleaner, more professional theme for my blog. I have a before picture, and you're welcome to view the site for the after. Right now, I'm redoing and improving a lot of the site from a back-end standpoint to make everything much friendlier for users.

    Before: http://i46.tinypic.com/35iuq7k.png
    After: http://www.runningonlinebusiness.com/

As you can see, those top two blocks are still empty, but I'm going to try and figure out something that I can put in them. Ideas on that are welcome. Anyway, I'm quite pleased with the way this new theme has turned out and I think it definitely boosts the image of my blog. Plus, it's less cluttered which results in faster loading.

I also plan on putting some content at the bottom, above the footer links - like, an about me cube and whatnot, like most blogs have, but that will come in time when I figure out what would best fit in that location.

Anyway, it's still a work in progress and your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

P.S. Like the theme? Buy it here!

The new blog is much better. I like the clean look of the white background. There's also a lot more space to add more content.

Both themes are nice but the newer one looks more professional indeed.
Personally, I would fill the blocks with images of people rather than advertisements for example. Makes it looks friendly and trustworthy too in my opinion and bit similar like inc.com for the inspiration.

Hi Loko. Thanks for the review.

I'm not sure what you mean by images of people, though. Do you just mean random stock photos of professionals standing around or pictures of something else?

P.S. I wasn't going to fill those blocks with ads, that would be too many!

Thanks, Bogart. The extra space for content was a big selling point!

Yes, I was thinking about stock photos or even better, actual photos of (interviewed) online entrepreneurs.
    Nice blog by the way!

The blog definitely looks more professional now, with the new layout. Maybe you can add a recommended eBook in those space above, or maybe even one of yours if you have one.

    Hi,

The new layout looks good and very professional.

If I could make a comment it is you can barely see the box around Name, email, website, comment, might make that a size bigger.

A couple of suggestions (1) display the last couple of posts rather than the excerpts (2) Add a logo to help brand the site.

    1. That creates duplicate content, no?
