Well, if this doesn't work I'm gonna try and make that dude jump.

So far I made him raise one hand (towards a star no less): http://doubleplushuman.com/images/handup.png

And then both hands, old style: http://doubleplushuman.com/images/handsup.png

I guess that adds a little bit of that "power" feel and throwing hands in the air is often an expression of enthusiasm as well, fwiw. At least it's not the way everyone portrays it I guess.

    Thanks

    Here's the jump: http://doubleplushuman.com/images/jump.png

It could still be polished, but I'm not sure about it.. I think it might be a little too funky.

I could end up using all these versions for various banners though.

    Thanks

The one hand raising character seems to just 'say hi'
The two hands in the air are better and the jumping guy is the best of the three but he seems to hover instead of jumping. Maybe he could bend one leg enhancing the jumping expression?

I tried to bend the left leg a little and rotate so it looks like jumping: http://doubleplushuman.com/images/jumper.png

I'll probably use it in some places, but I've decided to go with the one with both hands in the air, stripped down that header design a little to make it less cluttered and shorter and implemented that live on the site.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions!

As a sometimes C programmer, it seems to me that the plusses should be on the right side -- so it's Human++.

The human looks a lot like the little man who used to signal successful process completion in IBM AIX Smitty. When you did something right he would throw his hands up in the air as a sign of victory. I'm feeling particularly geeky this morning.

I think DoublePlusHuman is an important project and I'm excited to see self-help projects that aren't just selling a bunch of crap products.

I've blogrolled you from my PR3-but-never-got-a-theme Make Happiness site.

I recently started a new project, Evolutionary Religion. It also has no theme, yet. There may be some good tie-ins between our two projects in the future. That site is just a bunch of rough notes right now.

I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.

That reminds me of a site I found some time after founding ++H called Humanity+ about "innovation that can radically benefit the human condition".

That sounds like a very cool visualization.

I'm a bit of a geek too, although not a programmer. I just use Linux since 2004 and love technology.

Awesome, thanks. I'll bookmark them among related stuff I read as inspiration for DPH. They look interesting.
