Best Way to Link all Sites? On and Off Niche

    Hey Guys,

    Just couple quick questions

What have you found to be the best way to promote and link sites together between each other? What is the proper way of 3 waying links?

Also, how do you link different niche sites to one another so that your links and SEO is still counted towards being relevant instead of "useless backlinks?"

    Thanks!

Interlinking is a bad idea. Use oneway links and the rel-me attribute.

The social sites use rel attribute. The rel attribute defines the relationship of the linking page to the target page.

    <a href="Example Web Page" rel="me">...

I've seen Google penalize big sites that had interlinking sitewide links. At the minimum I suggest to only link from the homepage and not use reciprocal sitewides.

Sitewides in general seem to be useless these days.

I've been doing massive crosslinking between my sites, on individual content pages.

I haven't seen a penalty from this yet, but I also haven't seen it rocket my SERPS either.

So how does Google feel about rel="me" attributes, then?

Would it be worth using them?

I would only interlink sites if they are related and then only as a one way link, I think google is pretty good at spotting link exchanges these days, even if it is a 3 way.
I build and maintain a website about dehumidifiers I've even started a blog about them!

I've been doing 1 way and 3 way exchanges both with same efficiency under different parameters of course for many years now.

I'm not sure how Google feels about them. But rel="me" attributes are used by the social sites and Google is aware of them.

Most likely a penalty for sitewide interlinking is manual. Perhaps by using the rel="me" attributes you can use it as a defense in your reinclusion request.

The only problem that I have seen in the past is sitewide crosslinking on sites with thousands of pages.
