    Changing...

You set up a website 3 months ago (or whenever), optimized everything. Now, you want to change some things on the site (like the title, or the h1's, or the content, or whatever). How does that affect SEO? How does changing a Wordpress theme affect SEO? How does completely redoing your site on that same domain affect SEO? Do the search engines (Google in particular) detect this as bad or as good?

Doing SEO on a site may affect the search rankings. Do the changes slowly rather than all at once. If you are changing the theme leave the content the same so that Google doesn't consider the site to be new. For onsite optimization like the title, h1, description and content, I would work on one page at a time.

The basic idea is not to change everything at once.

I have always wondered the same thing. Although, I never changed the whole site at once. Just took it, one step at a time.

From past experience, changing the design/theme of your site wont have that much of an effect on SERPS if you keep the URL's, content, titles etc the same as they were previously.

However, don't change your title tags unless you believe it is absolutely necessary. I had this experience with one of my sites a while back and my SE traffic dropped by about 50% and took a month or two to recover.

Rather than changing title tags, just create new pages for the keywords you want to change to optimize for instead of changing existing pages.
