Thread: Content showing up first in blog theme

Is it really important to have the content showing up first on a blog, before everything else? Some theme designers make a point of doing this, but others don't.

I think that depends upon your goals for the blog.

I have some blogs where my goals are to share information. In those blogs, the information goes first.

I have other blogs which exist purely to generate revenue. In those blogs, big AdSense blocks come first.

What I've never really understood are the people who use up nearly half of the available ATF (Above the Fold) screen space with a large graphical header. Those people confuse me.
