Here are all of the different search operators that can be used in a Google search:

    Easy answer is this:
If your blog/site is indexed by google, then new posts are also indexed.

One thing I have learned is to try not to use a subject line for a post that is popular.
EG: if obama dies today, why bother with a subject line like "president obama dies today" that will be used by every known news service in the world.
Chnage it up to something like: America Rejoices! The Dumbass is Dead!

Hahahahhaa...above is just for that future day.....

OK, I don't wish death on anyone But using your example:

If Obama was to die, then people would go crazy searching for all types of Obama related material. RIP Obama <== will not generate you anything.

"Obama inauguration" "Obama Yes We Can Speech" etc. would probably hit easier.

    You get my point ...

You can also manually check that your content is indexed in Google by searching on an excerpt contained within quotes i.e. "Guy how to check my post/page is index by google ?"

Check this out on how it works:

You need to use an actual excerpt from the content like this https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...rp.h5JMFstGMCA
