    For my site i wrote a script that reads the db for all links and generates a sitemap, so its always upto data. If using WP for a blog or a CMS i guess you can just use a plugin

    How about add instruction video to your site? I think it's friendly to google.

    For page speed I am copying Google with the start of my HTML being like this:

    Code:
    <html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8"><title>Title Text</title>
    <meta name="description" content="Description text." />
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css" />
    </head>

    Just want to say thanks again for this. A great post like this is always a good way to double check newly launched websites for easy to forget mistakes that can affect you in a big way.

    Now we have HTML5. So header tags are slightly different (read: less code).

    It was stupid for me to copy/paste here, so here are my recent articles for Joomla! Magazine: SEO, Joomla! and your Template and something about image optimization: Image SEO

  7. Targeting the separate pages for each term is more important, that helps to increase in ranking as well as traffic.

    Hey Will, GREAT post!

    May I add something to your list?

    Internal linking.

    Find other pages on your website that are relevant, or semi-relevant to your target keyterm, and put in place internal links from a selection of those pages, mixing the exact keyword as an anchor, and also some related keyterms as anchors.

    I find that after doing all the excellent techniques that you have mentioned in your opening post, using internal links as per above can give a little extra boost

    Let me know if you agree? - I would be interested to hear your thoughts!

    One of the most popular on-page techniques uses keywords, those terms that Web surfers will use when trying to get a hold of your site through a search engine.

    I think that it should help a lot to add a unique video to your page since one of the main search groupings is video, along with Maps, News, Shopping, and Discussions.
