Yahoo and Bing are almost insignificant with respect to how much traffic they can drive versus how much Google can drive. Google is the 800-pound gorilla.

If your site ranks well in Google, it will likely rank well in Yahoo and Bing. There really aren't any other search engines in the global market that are worth focusing on. Some countries have their own search engines that do a good job competing with Google in the local market, such as Yandex in Russia and Baidu in China, but none of the local search engines compete well on a worldwide basis.

You should always try ranking better in google, yahoo and bing are not as big as google.
A site that is ranked high on bing will not be as successful as a site ranked high.

Well the quick answer is because a lot more people are using Google to search rather then Yahoo or Bing. So by ranking with google as your priority then you should in fact see more traffic. check out ( compete dot com ) to get some in depth information on the 3. Hope this has helped.

But it has been found that people using bing tend to actually click on the results much more than google!
So work for bing also, as that is bringing more results than google.
    Check your own site stats!
See where the traffic is coming from.
Too many webmasters just do not check and continue going only with google.
And too many go on forums and just say, go with google.

You might be surprised exactly what search engines are sending you traffic!

I agree with you iowadawg. Topdogger you're right but ignoring it completely won't be a good idea.

The reason that you might ignore SEO for Bing is that they tend to reverse engineer the Google results. It also seems to me that Bing is much weaker in terms of spam filters. So, they rely more on authority sites than Google.

There really isn't anything to ignore because neither Yahoo or Bing use ranking factors that are significantly different than Google. Like I said, if your site ranks well in Google, it will likely rank well in Yahoo and Bing.

Internet marketers are not ignoring other search engines. They are mainly just focusing their marketing efforts for Google. It's just that Google has more strict rules and you have to spend extra effort to gain popularity in Google. Spend more time in marketing in Google and the rest is for other search engines.

It's about marketshare, Google is basically the head honcho in the Search Engine Game (barring China's Baidu and chinese surfers)
It would make little sense to optimize for the smaller search engines ......namely Blekko

has anyone used that slashtag nonsense ?
