I learned something new today. Long-tail keywords. Except, I didn't learn that much about them. Could someone tell me what they are, how they are beneficial, and anything else in general?
Long tail keywords are less competitive and broad. As oppossed to the short tail which is narrow.
Long tail keywords are generally used by less sophisticated web novices or people searching for specific solutions. As a consequence, the long tail tends to have a higher conversion rate.
The key to hitting the long tail is to have more content. It's as easy as that.
It's kind of difficult to target the long tail but you can use the Google Search-based Keyword Tool to look for long tails.

long tail keywords are targeted keywords which mean you are targeting a specific niche. If you aim for less competition, go for long tail keywords.
short: weight loss - could be weight loss in the arms, thighs or any part of the body

Long tail keywords are good for reducing your costs if you use AdWords.
