In fact it's just common sense explained

I know that, so what is the purpose of boosting your Alexa ranking ?

There is no purpose, except if you are trying to sell advertising based upon your Alexa score.

Exactly, from what I experienced sites with a lower Alexa rank sell a little bit easier than sites ranking in the million numbers

When I'm surfing the 'Sites' forum on DigitalPoint and I see the domain, Alexa also gets my attention. If it's still at 15 million I might look into it, but the chance I'll buy the site will be less than when I see a great site with a 200K Alexa for a good price

That might be just personal experience, but I think it's an overall experience

Basically getting more traffic will increase your Alexa rank.

I don't beleive blogging about Alexa rank will help.

If you create a blog post about how to improve your Alexa rank, it might get many visits from webmasters. Since a lot of webmasters have the Alexa toolbar installed, or a plugin, it should help you in getting a better ranking

Ofcourse a stupid blog post that explains Alexa won't help a lot, but it might help something

Yeah. You may be able to skew the Alexa rank somewhat.

    Nice idea, Aquarezz

A really good way to increase your Alexa rank is to pay a few autosurf sites to send you visitors (like donkeymails.com).

An even better way is to go to mturk.com and pay only people with Alexa toolbars to visit your site for a few seconds.

A good idea (though I've never used it) is to get your link exchanger if you have one to get his link exchanger contacts to visit your site upon some link exchange request.

Most link exchangers are webmasters themselves so that should help Alexa - I think.
