    What is your website speed?

Google has implemented yet another ranking factor into their algorithms... the speed of your website! Now, it is more important than ever to ensure that your site is running at peak performance as often as possible. So, how fast is your site, exactly? Check by following these steps:

    1. Access the Google Webmaster Panel:
    https://www.google.com/webmasters/

    2. Click Tools on the left-hand sidebar.

    3. Click Site Performance and read the data summary and analyze the graph.

    Here are my results:
On average, pages in your site take 0.7 seconds to load (updated on Apr 8, 2010).
This is faster than 97% of sites.

You can also check your site's speed with this tool:
    http://internetsupervision.com/

It accesses your site from a variety of locations around the world.
You can use this information to give your visitors a better experience on your site.

They have a nice wee plugin for Firefox to test sites speeds and how to improve them:
    Page Speed Home

I've only recently come across it, but all my sites seem to be in the high 80's (out of 100), and I tested a bunch of other "popular" sites (including twitter, facebook, myspace, google, yahoo, ebay, amazon) with it and generally they were all between 75 and 90.

    for my blog :

On average, pages in your site take 2.8 seconds to load (updated on Feb 28, 2010). This is faster than 52% of sites. These estimates are of low accuracy (fewer than 100 data points).

so should i go for some optimization or this should be fine as my blog is tech blog.

2 Seconds is impressive i actually have slowed my installation @ Anant Shrivastava : Techno Enthusiast as i am using some plugin's which provide info on pages. hence i don't mind getting 4-5 sec load time.

Are you guys noticing any changes in the SERP that has to do with speed? I am really trying to observe on how much of a factor speed is for Google now... I have read Matt Cutts blog last April 9 and since then, I have been trying to see some changes in SERP with relevance to the speed but I'm seeing that much difference... what have you guys noticed???
