Making money from your twitter account

Just stumbled on to something interested for all you people have lots of followers on twitter.

This program matches advertisers up with you and you can set how much you want to be paid per tweet.

I think the minimum may be $1 per tweet so if you can get a few of those a day it wouldn't be a bad little revenue stream.

It's pretty good, but I find Twitter to be more useful as a personal brand. Promoting your website on your personal Twitter page is what really gains you tons of traffic and views, and possibly some $$$ depending on how much traffic you can bring in.

But Twitter definitely has a number of monetization options!
It's great for exposure to websites and affiliate URLs and it's applicable for programs like what have been mentioned in this thread.

Sponsored Tweets seems like a pretty nice application, I've also registered. I am not sure if I need to actively search out people who need to have me tweet, or if I get updates like e-mails or something...

I haven't logged in for a while, maybe I'll check it out soon. I just don't think there's much practical money with Sponsored Tweets aside from small change here and there when you need it.

This is a very accurate statement. You're not going to make millions using any sort of 'let me pay you for sending out tweets' program, but you'll definitely make some cash here and there - and considering the extremely minimal effort required, it's not a bad idea.

Do you know what the limit is or average number of followers most accounts need? I have one account on Twitter with about 4,000 followers (Jake Rocheleau (Ascendancy) on Twitter) and I'm sure that would be enough, but I don't know how much I could be charging per tweet

200 followers, I believe. As for pricing, start low and slowly (but steadily) increase if business is good.

Sponsored Tweets will give you a recommended amount to set per tweet that you can mod. This will be based on your number of followers, the number you follow, amount of DM's and @ messages sent, and some other factors I can't remember offhand.
