Recently I have been bombarded by auto DM's.
Now I have got rid of them.
Do you like them? Do you send auto DM's?

I hate auto-DMs they are very impersonal, and people rarely respond to them, so why use them in the first place?
If you use it to promote your blog, some people may get annoyed and even unfollow you, as the results of a poll on twitip says (Sorry I can't find the post).
To turn off auto DMs, go to http://twitter.com/optmeout and you will know what to do. Since I've opted out of auto DMs, there are so much less auto-DMs sent to me, and more 'personal' DMs.

I HATE auto DMs. They are a headache. Generally I unfollow people who send them.
To be really cool. Auto DM: "You're an ass for following me."
Let's see how fast they'll unfollow

FUELEY IS DEAD!
I'm not a giant fan of auto-dms, but they make sense in theory. You write a personal message to greet your new followers, like the welcome to a newsletter. I think if used more organically "hey, how's it going? thanks for the follow! Feel free to check out my site" they would be somewhat less annoying.
