    Facebook group and deep links

I don't know if you have noticed that, but many companies use Facebook to create deep links. You can talk about your business without audience and pass juice by linking each post to your site.

How pathetic to continuously talk to yourself on your Facebook group wall to create links schema.

No matter what the new portal is, opportunists and spammers will always find their way to manipulate the system.

What is your opinion on this?

    Hi,

Is that not what it's for. Please don't misunderstand me but all I see on Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and place like that are people talking about themselves. You need to self promote. Some people just have bigger egos in the promotions department then others.

My thought is this, if I feel that they start looking like a used car salesman in checked pants, what they are selling is probably a lemon.

    Hi,

I think facebook is the best place to get backlinks. But as far as traffic is concerned, it is useless unless otherwise you have more than 4000 fans.

How it is different from a blog if I follow what Sami said? The best place to have deeplinks Adsensing? How it is different compared to link farm or doorway sites?

Do you really believe it passes link juice? I have a few groups and fan pages and for traffic it works, even if you have only something like 1,500 fans.

Then of course you can go ahead and share it on your profile to draw even more attention.

I have not seen an SEO benefit. Maybe I am doing something wrong. But in regards to your concern:

Sure a lot of people use FB to spam. But you can choose who you befriend and which page you be-fan.

In a previous post I stated that Facebook Local could end up being a very important marketing opportunity for you business. Since then, thousands of businesses have created Facebook Pages - simple templates to create a page about your service that can be promoted via Facebook’s social network.
In principle the more networked your business’ page is (via customers, friends, vendors, etc.) the more likely you are to show up in Facebook and be found by a potential customer. These pages are also getting indexed in Google and certainly help drive search engine traffic to Facebook, but based on a small sample, most businesses are getting no local search engine optimizaton help from these pages.
Facebook Pages & Local Search Engine Optimization

I guess if companies are creating groups, that includes SEO benefit to their groups and sites.

What I am trying to say is that it is very possible to target competitor keywords through a well builded Facebook group and rank higher. I cannot say it is directly beneficial to the site owners building Facebook groups but it can be a very powerful SEO weapon, to disturb the competition rankings.

Well, I created a page for my blog.
I also offer a Facebook Page Creation Service here at NB.

I haven't promoted my blog's page yet, but every time I make a new blog post, I post about it there. I know that Facebook Pages are great for improving reputation, establishing connections with clients and visitors, and things of that nature - but I never realized there was actually an SEO benefit. While there are people that may abuse Facebook for business, I think that there are ways to do it and still maintain ethical integrity.

I think there's no problem with talking about yourself and your business, but ensure to answer questions regarding those. Because people over the network might get interested and ask a few questions for them to be convinced that you are a credible company. Facebook really is one of the most recommended site to get traffic, but we must know first how to interact without acting like a bot.

To be convinced that you are a credible company, one must rely on much more than just one site or one social bookmak.

Besides that, Facebook is not the place for asking about orders, shipping details, exchanges, etc...

One time, someone posted on our wall saying he made an order that he did not receive. However, the order was never made on our online store. Things like that can damage your company's credibility.

Of course these companies have other profiles on social networking sites and I'm pretty much sure of it, of course you have noticed that facebook is now one of the most visited website in US and other countries and its the reason why they are increasing their popularity over the network because they can easily find their targeted audience over facebook.

Regarding shipping issues, orders and payments. Their website should be the one handling this situation and not on facebook.
