I only add people whom I know personally.
So, I have decided to start adding my affiliates on Facebook. I hardly ever use my Facebook and for the most part all of my friends on there are from high school or the people I've met here at college, but I have been contemplating whether I should start to use it to network with my affiliates and other business professionals.
I noticed that shoemoney and John Chow have been been promoting their Facebooks a little more, but for the most part their contacts are within the industry. Most of mine are college students who could care less about any industry besides the beer industry
I went ahead and added about 47 of my affiliates. If you get a notification and don't confirm I will call it out RIGHT HERE and call you by name
If its only about Facebook. I add only the people whom i know personally. But then, do i use it much?
If we talk about other social networking sites, like myspace, tagged etc. I add neone and everyone there, afterall they always helped me get some traffic
To be honest I don't use facebook. I do have an account there but I rarely open it. I don't know why but I don't like such kinda sites.
Maybe I'll have to re-use my account to help promote my upcoming projects
Start to re-use your account... I am really a facebook mania now... so many good games to play... wow....
hint: if you play some favourite games there, be active at thier forums, and you might get gems he he he... I manage to get a lil bit over 150 friends just from a game... and start posting "note", update status, etc etc which attract them to your website... sweet...
Don't even mention Shoemoney, because he took me off as a friend and told me it wasn't personal, just too many group invites coming from me.
Anyways, I think that when you get serious, you may want to take certain people off who distract you. You may want to move into a certain direction that benefits you. Yes, for some time I got distracted talking to girls, but now I am mainly adding political, real estate and seo friends and that's it.
