Has anyone here considered making a Facebook page for your blog? I have done so for each of my blogs and have some active fans on each of them. Share your experiences...

Making a facebook page for a website or blog is a very supportive thing in terms of search engine optimization. I have created many pages for sites in Facebook.

is it? But am getting pretty enough traffic just with around 50 fans from the page NewGenre Soft on Facebook to the site NewGenre Software and BPO Solutions

It must be depending on the way of your dealing and updations with the page.

It's not happening always. You can try Social Networking sites like FB, myspace, orkut, twitter etc. We can't assure you that you will be getting very high traffic from these services. But if you are doing the works in your side perfectly with these service, [getting traffic in mind] definitely you will get results. Above all these all are free services. So why Can' t we give a try. There is nothing to lose.

I wonder what kind of web sites this works best for?

Most of my web sites are just too boring to promote via Facebook.

The people on Facebook would probably like Stimey, but I worry that they would just post photos to Facebook and make my Facebook profile popular -- earning me zero revenue. Promoting Facebook isn't really a goal for me.

I'm trying to think of what attributes a site would need to have in order to have a net gain of traffic, long term, from maintaining a Facebook page.

Making a Facebook page for your product/ service is a big help for promotion because of the huge volume of users that log in several times a day. You can also build networks through Facebook which is effective for your company.

My problem is that I already have everyone in groups, so getting them now to move to pages is tough. A big regret on my part as I have been advised to create pages rather than groups. Especially now where you can connect your FB fan page to twitter and have posts automatically be turned into tweets.

It works well. From what I see my friends do.
