I just tried something and it worked
This might help some of you. I went to Google because of an article I just did on Tron Legacy. It stars Olivia Wilde so I checked out Olivia Wilde on Google at the top of page one Google for some reason is showing Twitter post Now I have never seen that before. So I then went and made a post to Twitter on the bio I have on her.
Guess what? A few seconds later it showed on page one. I went from 9 viewing to 27 viewing in seconds. All because of that tweet.
I don't know how long the tweets show or how Google picks what tweets they show. or what topics but if your timing is right this could be a good plus to your site.
Update: My post stayed up for 39 mins before other tweets replaced it.
Congratulations, how many extra traffic did you get in that period?

I don't really know how to tell extra traffic I use WassUp that is way to many pages to look though. Yesterday alone I have 3800+ pageviews.
I can say at the time I was getting extra people. because I was watching SPY Visitors while this was going on but I did not keep count.

Google grabs tweets as fast as they pop up.
Why I always like to use the url of my sites when I post a tweet.
One thing that helps?
Good title or tag line in your tweets before the url.
Example: No tweets are showing up on Eva Mendes, Eva Longoria, not even Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie.
Yes I agree, I remember I updated one of my blog and post it on twitter, that day I got 59 visitors and gradually drop down to my usual visitors in a week period, so I guess it worths doing as long as you have a unique-high quality-info to share.
This is interesting. Try posting more tweets to articles about actors and actresses that are not in the news. That may help you to pinpoint G's methodology. It could be that G grabs the most current Tweet to display about a topic, or it could be a random selection thing. It might also be related to the fact that the performer's name is the first words in the Tweet, which could give it more weight just like an HTML title tag. Or it could be due to the strength of the theme that you are forming on the article pages.
You might be on to something Sami. You just need to figure out G's formula for selecting Tweets.
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." -- Benjamin Franklin
I am sure you are correct about the name being given more weight. If I were to guess about what is going on. The tweet post only show up for what I have seen as hot topics are trending and then they disappear off of page one. Also from what I can guess the number of different people tweets on the same topic.
