    Quick Top Ranking

Yesterday I posted a video to YouTube about my skiing trip, and put keyword tags in there.

Well, today I searched for more info. on the resort on G and was amazed to see that my video and a friends' was featuring as Google result #1 and #2.

So this is an easy way to get #1 ranking for minimal effort for maybe unusual search terms. No website needed, just upload a video. You can add a link to your site in the description.

Google has been giving preferential treatment to their YouTube videos for some time, especially for non-competitive search phrases. The title and tags that you use are critical factors.

I have tested this a few times myself with similar results. One thing that I have also seen is that a YouTube video does not seem to hold the top slot for very long unless it starts to pickup Views and Likes. If it doesn't get these, it is easily knocked out by a newer competing video. Let us know if you see the same thing.

I guess that our videos will drop in ranking since we don't need to promote this keyword, and next Sunday we will be at another ski resort so we can try to rank for that place too I suppose

Good point, Venus. I should start to add videos to a Google profile. Google tends to pay more attention to their own properties than others.
