    StumbleUpon Traffic

I have recently seen two of my stumbled posts getting quite a decent number of hits from Stumbleupon, infact, numbering in 500 or so hits alone per post. I usually stumbleupon other pages and in between, sneak my blog post links per 10 mention of other links. Its quite difficult to get traffic of this nature from stumble upon, unless you are a well known person in the social arena. Was this traffic figure an error?

Generally I would say 500 is a very low figure. Posts can get around 7000 visits easily.

But the tendency of people stumbling has become this- They only 'like' funny and entertaining stuff. To get likes for webmaster related stuff is very difficult.

So the best strategy which @DenHarsh on Twitter has done, get 100-200 SU users on messenger.

There are also many SU exchange clubs.

instead of getting 100 people on my messenger (oh cthulu...) I could just...write something funny and entertaining?

Personally i think SU traffic is so hard to gauge that it can make your brain pop just trying to work out the dynamics.

I've stopped stumbling, but back in the early days I was getting some big hits there.

Now - It's not really worth bothering, just MHO

In a recent project we managed to surpass 1,000 unique hits on each of our blogs in the network within 10 days. StumbleUpon and other means of social media were a huge part of that.

You have to get some friends to help you out, and entice your readers to stumble as well - buttons at the end of posts help.

I think stumble can paly good role in driving traffic but you have to be active on others activity too . Keep stumbling your friends link and keep making new friends . I have webmaster blog and many posts received above 3k+ hits on daily basis and this traffic keep coming in next few more days and get finished slowly .

I haven't stumbled in a while. I might try, though.

It's sometimes hard to guess what the StumbleUpon community will like.

Their favorite site of mine is A Lincoln Library.
